My
focus in Naturopathic Medicine is treating people with Multiple Chemical
Sensitivities. After a chemical exposure to Chlordane I was diagnosed
with Multiple Sclerosis and Lupus. While being mostly bedridden for
over fifteen years, I spent my time researching many aspects of healing
and found many that helped me overcome my illnesses and my chemical
sensitivity. I've shared these procedures with other doctors and
patients who have also had good results.
My
interest in natural medicine began in 1970 when I met Jim Watson
in college. Although he had been diagnosed with cancer and his doctors
expected him to die in a few months, through alternative (natural)
medicine he regained his health and went on to prove his doctors
wrong. Natural medicine continues to fascinate and amaze me.
BACKGROUND
As
a doctoral candidate, Dr. Whited conducted a national research project
on The Efficacy of Treatments for Multiple Chemical Sensitivity. She
graduated Cum Laude from LaSalle University. She co-founded and was
the first chairperson for The MCS Taskforce of New Mexico where she
lobbied for MCS recognition, an epidemiological study by the Department
of Health and the rights of chemically sensitive people in the state.
She is the founder and the past president of H.E.A.L. of Acadiana,
which is a support group of the national organization, the Human Ecology
Action League. She was the co-chair for the Lafayette chapter of The
Injured Workers Union where many workers in the state were chemically
injured on the job. In addition, she is a long time supporter and active
member of many
non-profit
organizations in the field of Ecology (Environmental Health) and Natural
Medicine.
Dr.
Whited is the past president of The New Mexico Physicians of Naturopathic
Medicine working on legislation to license Naturopathic
Doctors in the state. She is the founder and Executive Director of
Natural Med Health, Inc., a non-profit organization that teaches professionals
and the general public about natural medicine. She is a member in good
standing of the World Natural Health Organization, The American Association
of Drugless Practitioners, the American Alternative Medical Association,
and the American Holistic Health Association.
Dr.
Whited is a board certified ND and board certified NMD practicing in
New Mexico. She currently specializes in
Mind Body Spirit Medicine and energywork.
